Ciaboga a century of boat races

31 August to 5 January

Language: Eusk | Esp | Fr | Eng

To celebrate the hundred years of Ciaboga magazine, the Basque Maritime Museum has organised an exhibition about this legendary publication, which can be visited in the Museum's attic from 30 August to 5 January. The exhibition includes images, articles and original copies from Ciaboga, in order to showcase the trajectory of the first magazine specialising in rowing in Spain.

The contents compiled in each Ciaboga constitute a source of information of great importance for our maritime history. From the first issue, its pages contain the list of winners of the city’s historical rowing race held since the end of the 19th century, as well as interviews with mythical Basque rowing skippers such as Kiriko, Aita Manuel, Matxet or Manuel Olaizola. So, whether you are rowing lovers or not, we invite you to enjoy this exhibition in order to retrace the history of this legendary magazine.
