From 11 October to 10 December 2017
Twenty-six years after its opening, the Department of Culture, Tourism, Young People and Sports of the Regional Government of Gipuzkoa wishes to strengthen the Naval Museum with a renovation that culminates in a more openly fitted-out space, more active in its work to disseminate culture, and closer to the public.
In this way, the Museum has designed a socialization space to involve the citizens and the different agents of the territory of the design of the new Basque Maritime Museum, in order to build a network of external relations that make it a reference for initiatives linked to the Basque maritime history and culture. It is a question of the public being part of the project contributing their ideas and suggestions.
It presents the project of integral renovation, based on speeches, challenges and renewed objectives, in accordance with the demand and with the current modes of transmission of knowledge, which includes the change of name of the equipment: Basque Maritime Museum.
In addition, a working material has been published that includes the formulation of the new Museum, and incorporates a questionnaire through which we wish to gather the opinions, points of view and stories of all those interested in collaborating with us in the definition of this new stage for the Museum.
