We are aware of the importance of activating new participation dynamics with all audiences. For this, and in order to be participatory, the museum wants to become a place of daily use, a space of trust, felt as its own, and integrated into the reality of the city and territory, which inspires the public to create and share, participate and collaborate. And also to propose projects and initiatives.
This paradigm shift in institutional museums is a great challenge, since museum-public interaction is almost non-existent traditionally. For this, the relationship mode based on the authority of the museum on public feedback must be changed, and channels for listening must be opened, beyond the 2.0 tools that have made visible and facilitated the relationship between people.
Along with this, the museum is an active agent in its community and in the territory, with a way of doing that allows it to build a bridge between the different cultural agents and the different publics of the territory. Thus, it must actively maintain a culture of collaboration, networking with other cultural, social and economic agents of the territory.
The museum works with different agents, among other agents we can mention: Gordailua, Caserío Igartubeiti Museum, Zumalakarregi Museum, Elkano Fundazioa, San Sebastian museum network, Basque Coast museum network, Basquetour, Matxitxako Elkartea, Albaola, Tabakalera, Enbata , Grupo IXO, San Sebastian Music School, Mutriku Town Hall, Donostia Turismo ...
