Between 2025 and 2026, the fifth centenary of the little-known Loaisa–Elcano Expedition (1525–1536) is being commemorated, a maritime feat that proved decisive in the history of humankind. The exhibition explains how this transoceanic journey was prepared and highlights the role of Andrés de Urdaneta, key to uniting nautical knowledge from East and West and enabling the opening of the oceans to global navigation.

The Casa Torre in the port of San Sebastián hosts a selection of models, paintings, and documents that illustrate the extraordinary story of that voyage. The exhibition is completed with an educational space and a booklet for families.
