This workshop focuses on the activity of Basque fishermen over four centuries in the waters of what is now Newfoundland.
We find out about the products of fishing and hunting whale and cod, and analyse the conservation systems.
Specific goals
- Finding out about the various methods used to preserve food, such as salt brines.
- Finding out about the products emerging from cod and whale fishing.
- Finding out about the daily lives of whale-hunters and fishermen on board a ship.
All our activities are available in Basque, Spanish and English
